Bali Plus – Icon Bali Mall, which is claimed to be the largest shopping center in Southeast Asia, started operating on Friday (7/6/2024).
Located in the Sanur area, ICON BALI is expected to become a leading shopping center in Bali with a focus on the market share of foreign and domestic tourists.
This shopping center will have two entrances, one from Jalan Danau Tamblingan and the other directly connected to Sanur Beach
The Mayor of Denpasar, Bali, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara hopes that the presence of the new Icon Bali Mall which has been operating since today in the Sanur tourist area can accommodate or employ the young generation of Bali from the local city.
Hopefully, with the presence of this mall, it can accommodate young people from Denpasar to work there, said Jaya Negara in Denpasar, Friday.
Jaya Negara hopes that the presence of the new mall which adds to the row of malls in the capital city of Bali Province can also encourage the growth of the regional economy.
Icon Mall, which I just found out, is actually owned by Sanur’s own son. There will accommodate thousands of workers and accommodate around 200 UMKM groups,” he said.
Visitors to ICON BALI can enjoy various facilities, including access to the beach, community activity areas, clinics, foreign exchange, tourist information centers. The parking area can accommodate 1,100 cars and 700 motorbikes, as well as parking for bicycles.
ICON BALI not only offers hundreds of shops and restaurants, but also presents the ‘8 Wonders of ICON BALI’, which are special features designed to attract and entertain visitors, both Balinese and tourists.
Some of them are Jaje Bali Floating Market, Indoor Cultural Stage & Amphitheater, Immersive Vertical Forest with multi-media experience, Seamless Beachfront Experience with seaside restaurants and a beach club, Beach Sunset Water & Laser Show, Icon Beach Gallery, Butterfly Park, and Edible Garden.
According to Jaya Negara, with local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) being attracted to promote their products in the mall located on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Sanur, Denpasar, it will be able to improve the community’s economy.
“Certainly economic growth will increase because the UMKM actors are attracted,” he said.
However, Jaya Negara reminded about the absorption of labor from young men and women in Denpasar City because based on the survey results, they need jobs.
In addition, Jaya Negara said that what is no less important is to maintain traffic conditions so that they remain smooth after the opening of the new mall in the Sanur tourist area.
